You know that time, when you had a bag of Steamies' Soup Dumplings in your freezer, and you realized you didn't own proper steaming equipment, but it was too late, and Steamies is closed, and Amazon was not going to be able to deliver a Steamer basket to you in time...?
This hack is for you! The only thing you'll need you'll be able to find in your local corner store or closest CVS.
Hack not approved by my Shanghainese mother-in-law:
- Boil a pot of water
- Flatten a round aluminum baking pan (you can find these at the corner store or CVS/Walgreens)
- Poke holes on the bottom to allow the steam to come up
- Place flattened aluminum pan in the pot
- Place frozen soup dumplings on the pan, with sufficient spaces apart
- Steam for 10 minutes
